The rate for an individual psychotherapy session is $160 (tax included), lasts 50 minutes and is payable at the end of each session. If finances are a barrier, we can openly discuss a sliding scale rate.

This approach involves becoming aware of your avoidances, examining reoccurring themes in your life, and observing and utilizing information from your past to inform the present. I’m also interested in your fantasy life, including your daydreams and the dreams you have at night. Psychodynamic psychotherapy goes beyond an intellectual experience into an emotional space with the goal for you to be able to live more freely and openly.

Depending on the concern, your goals, and financial factors, psychotherapy can be long or short-term. Some specific problems resolve more quickly than others. Long-term or lifelong patterns that develop related to self-esteem and relationships are often deeply ingrained within us and can take time to change. I often take an “open-ended” treatment approach when possible, where we can take as long as we need to accomplish the goals that you set. As we are working towards these long-term goals, shorter-term goals will be addressed along the way.

This is ultimately up to you, and we can discuss this during the free consultation. When considering frequency it’s important to factor in financial resources, your schedule, and the urgency of your concerns. To increase insight and self-understanding, coming more frequently (once a week) can be helpful at first.
